It’s dress up day for the pooches

As the cliche goes – time really does fly by when you’re having fun.

This weekend is undoubtedly going to fly by as many opportunities for fun are available all over the region.

From weekend activities everyone enjoys to free weekend events, there’s something for everyone.

Join Schoc Chocolate in Greytown today as they celebrate their 20 years in business.

They’ve teamed up with Coney Wines to put on a delicious spread of wine and chocolate tasting.

Chocolatier Murray Langham of Schoc and Lisa Coney have chosen the perfect matching wine and handcrafted chocolates to tantalise your taste buds.

Tickets can be purchased through Eventfinda.

Today, 12–4.30 pm, Cobblestones Museum, 169 Main St Greytown.

Winter gig

Why huddle up in front of the fire this weekend when you can get on down to one of the region’s most beloved winter warmer gigs: The Warratahs.

They’ll be playing across the seven albums of Barry Saunder’s songs from a bit of country, rock and folk.

General admission is $50 each, which is well worth the money and time.

Book your tickets through Eventfinda.

Today, 8 pm, Carterton Events Centre, Holloway St, Carterton.

Chook Workshop

Fed up with the ongoing egg shortage around the country? Have you ever thought about having your own chickens in town?

Look no further– a Chook Workshop by Chloe de Graaff from Wai Hylines will present “Learn everything there is to know about chooks and egg laying”.

To attend the workshop, there will be a $20 fee, which will go towards helping the community gardens become financially sustainable.

Put all your eggs in one basket today and secure your place by emailing [email protected].

Today, 1–3pm, GROW community gardens [inside the small hall, St Matthews, Park Ave, Masterton].

Doggy dress-up

Show off your furry four-legged friends at ‘Dogs’ Day Out’ this weekend.

Enter your pooches in competitions for the best-dressed dog and owner, the best dog trick, the best photo and the dog who looks most like their owner awards.

That’s not all, there will be lots of puppy cuddles, market stalls selling local doggy treats, and a photo booth.

Tomorrow, 9am–2pm, Stella Bull Park, Main St, Greytown.
