Great article regarding our hospitality industry. There are massive issues here. Who cares when the chef and staff get a break, and where they can go, so long as we get ourselves fed and watered. Stress, overwork, health issues are all part of it. It is an industry where it is of benefit to smoke, you can then at least justify a spell outside out of the kitchen. But the wait staff are equally abused. Short split shifts, or arriving at work and told ‘oh sorry I meant to call you’ no shifts at all. The industry, employers and perhaps patrons all have apart to play in this solution. It is a mess.
