An unscheduled water outage on Bannister St in Masterton left residents without water for almost two hours yesterday.
Allan Kirk, who lives on Church St, was also affected by the outage and said this wasn’t the first time he’d been left without water, without warning.
The first outage left Kirk without water for hours, and he even recalled a neighbour being caught out in the shower when the water was shut down.
A Masterton District Council [MDC] spokesperson confirmed that there was an unscheduled outage yesterday after a failure in an older part of the water main on Bannister St.
“Water is essential to human life,” Kirk said.
“I was annoyed last time it happened, I’m now angry.”
An MDC spokesperson confirmed that a letterbox drop had been done to affected properties of the Masonic St water shutdown planned for today, and alerts are also available on the MDC website and through the free Antenno app.
