Police pause search for missing man

Police have announced that the active search in the Mt Holdsworth [pictured] area for missing man Michael MacGregor has been “paused”.

MacGregor, also known as Michael Namana, was last seen at Rocky Lookout on July 31 at 12.20pm.

Police said he was wearing shorts and a hoodie, and may have been wearing a hat.

Yesterday afternoon a police spokesperson told the Times-Age that “Monday was the final day of tasked searching, and unfortunately did not yield any further helpful information”.

“It’s expected that a cadaver dog search will take place in one-to-two weeks’ time, and with these at our disposal we believe there is a solid chance of finding Michael,” the spokesperson said.

Police are ensuring MacGregor’s family is updated across all developments and that it’s their goal to bring MacGregor back to his family.

Anyone who was walking in the Mt Holdsworth area on July 31 who may have seen MacGregor or have any information on his whereabouts is still urged to call Police on 111, quoting event number P055522968.
