Encore

This evening, from 5pm to 6pm, there will be an encore screening of two of the Vincent Ward films – ‘Ma Olsen’ and ‘In Spring One Plants Alone’ – shown at the recent Wairarapa Film Festival at Regent 3, 230 Queen St, Masterton.

Rubbish

Carterton District Council will collect next week’s rubbish and recycling on Tuesday due to Monday’s public holiday.

Office closed

Horizons Regional Council will be closing the front counter at its Palmerston North office from 1pm on Monday due to King’s Birthday Weekend. After hours enquiries can still be made via freephone 0508 800 800.

Planting day

This Sunday at 10am Masterton District Council is holding a community planting day on the Riversdale dunes. The meeting pint is at the car park at the southern end of Blue Pacific Parade.

Tararua services

Due to the public holiday, Tararua District Council’s customer service centres, libraries, and i-site will be closed. All transfer station opening hours and curbside recycling pickups remain unchanged. If you need to contact the council, the phone lines will still be active on 06 374 4080 [North] and 06 376 0110 [South].

Police callout

Police responded to reports of a vehicle that had broken down on SH2 near Carterton at about 10.30am yesterday; the road was quickly cleared, and there was no danger to the public.

Park survey

Greater Wellington Regional Council [GWRC] is asking people who enjoy visiting the region’s parks to fill out the Annual Parks Survey. Feedback will guide GWRC on how it prioritises planning and improvement of park facilities and aid it in deciding how to conduct maintenance activities. The survey closes on Wednesday, June 26, at 5pm. Visit the gw.govt.nz website.

South Wairarapa District Council has a new app, Antenno, which allows you to stay up to date with council news and important information in real time.
