Small crash
Police were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Papawai Rd and Main St at 4.59pm on Thursday. It is understood that two people sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Home health
Home health assessment kits are available to borrow from any of the Wairarapa libraries. In preparation for winter, residents are encouraged to check the health of their homes.
The kits check things such as insulation, how damp a home is, how much power appliances use, and whether firewood is ready to burn. Kits can be borrowed with a valid library card and include an infrared thermometer, hygrometer [to measure air temperature and moisture levels], a stopwatch to measure shower flow rate, a power meter to measure electricity and the cost of plug-in appliances, a wood moisture meter to check firewood, and a user guide for each tool.
