Fire season

While parts of the Wellington region will be moving to a restricted fire season from 8am today, Wairarapa remains in a prohibited fire season in which all open-air fires are prohibited and previously issued fire permits have been revoked. Conditions
in Wairarapa are still dry,
especially in coastal areas. Anybody wishing to do any activity that could cause a spark [such as mowing lawns] is encouraged to do so in the morning when conditions are generally cool and damp. To learn more about fire seasons and fire safety, visit www.checkitsalright.nz for helpful information.
