Long-Term Plan popups
The Masterton Ratepayers and Residence Association is holding drop-in sessions about Masterton District Council’s Long-Term Plan next week. They will be at Masterton Library on Monday and Thursday between 9:30am and 11:30am, and at Lakeview School on Monday and Tuesday between 5pm and 7pm.
Road closures
SH2 Remutaka Hill will be closed from Sunday to Thursday between 9pm and 4am. Drivers of light vehicles can book an escorted crossing in advance on nzta.govt.nz. SH2 in Waingawa at Wiltons Rd and East Tararahi Rd, and the Cornwall Rd and Norfolk Rd roundabouts will be closed in both directions from Sunday to Thursday between 8pm and 5am – a detour will be in place. SH53 Tauwharenīkau Bridge will also be closed on Monday and Tuesday between 7am and 5pm for maintenance.
Roadworks
SH2 in North Carterton near Chester Rd will have an altered lane layout from Sunday to Thursday between 7pm and 6am for line marking and sweeping. SH2 in North Carterton near Hughes Line to Chester Rd will have stop-go signals from Sunday to Friday between 7pm and 6am. SH53 Bidwell Cutting will have stop-go signals from Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.
Missing Sheep
Tararua District Council animal control team found eight wandering sheep on Makīrīkīrī Rd yesterday. They have been taken to the pound. The owner of the sheep should call the council on 06 374 4080 [north] or 06 376 0110 [south].
