Masterton roadworks
Dixon St will be closed to traffic between Crayne and Russell Streets today to allow resealing work to be completed before the arrival of forecast wet weather. Detours will be in place down Queen, Crayne, and Russell St. As work is completed, the length of the closure will be reduced so as little of Dixon St as possible is closed at any one time.
Collection rescheduled
South Wairarapa District Council [SWDC] has advised that rubbish and recycling for the Tora region will be done today, instead of the scheduled Monday. SWDC said that, due to a technical issue, the recycling and rubbish collection at Tora did not happen this Monday, so for this week only Tora residents are asked to put recycling and rubbish out for collection today. The council apologises for any inconvenience.
Weather outlook
MetService has forecast fine weather today, with high cloud in the morning expected to increase. Scattered rain could develop this afternoon, with northeasterlies becoming strong in exposed places towards midday. Tomorrow looks likely to feature rain, easing to a few showers in the afternoon, and northerlies that should ease in the evening. Saturday is also expected to be wet, with rain and southwesterlies for a time in the afternoon and evening. On Sunday, the clouds should clear for a fine day, with southerlies easing.
Power outage
There will be a planned power outage at Holdsworth Lodge tomorrow between 8.45am and 3pm while Genesis Energy completes scheduled maintenance. If the work cannot be completed that day, the backup day will be April 19.
