Flight transfer
The Wellington-based Life Flight fixed-wing air ambulance transported a young child from Masterton to Wellington Hospital on Monday night.
A spokesperson for Life Flight said the air ambulance arrived in Masterton at 9pm and shortly after arrived back at its Airport Life Flight base in Wellington at 10.45pm.

Wairarapa electorate candidates will be appearing at Lakeview School Hall in Lansdowne this Sunday, October 1 at 5.30pm. Mike Butterick [National], Simon Casey [ACT], Kieran McAnulty [Labour], and Celia Wade-Brown [Greens] are all confirmed to attend at this stage, the night will be moderated by Brent Gare and has been organised by the Lansdowne Residents Association.
Candidates from the Māori electorate of Ikaroa-Rāwhiti will also be in attendance – Cushla Tangaere-Manuel [Labour] and Meka Whaitiri [Te Pāti Māori].
Rocks thrown
Masterton Police responded to reports of kids throwing rocks at windows on York St, Masterton at 2.25pm yesterday. A spokesperson for police said that police spoke to those involved and confirmed that enquiries are ongoing.
Wellington CBD traffic delays
Wellington Police are advising commuters in and out of the city to plan ahead from today until the end of the week. Road closures and roadworks are set to begin today. Part of Hill St – between Molesworth St and Guildford Tce – will be closed to the public as police restrict vehicular movement due to a number of protest groups converging on the CBD. Restrictions for general traffic will also be in place for Kate Sheppard Pl, and Bunny St near the bus depot.
A police spokesperson has advised they “are working hard to ensure the disruption to residents and nearby businesses is minimal.”
A planned protest for tomorrow is set to gather in Civic Square at approximately 10am, before heading along Mercer St, Willis St and Lambton Quay as they make their way to Parliament.
