Water race survey open
Carterton District Council [CDC] is seeking community feedback on its water race system. The more than 300km of man-made water races are owned by the ratepayers and administered by the council. Given its current consent with the Greater Wellington Regional Council expires in June this year, CDC is in the process of compiling relevant information for a new application. It said the focus for feedback should be on how the water race is used and what value it provides, as well as views on how it is maintained and funded. The survey, which opened yesterday and closes on March 17, can be found online at https://cdc.govt.nz/water-race-feedback/.
