Car abandoned
Police received a report of a car that had been driven over a bank on Mataikona Rd, Masterton yesterday morning. A spokesperson for police said the incident happened on Wednesday night, and no one was in the vehicle. Enquiries are ongoing.
Dog tags unclaimed
South Wairarapa District [SWDC] wants dog owners to know that if you’ve already paid for your dog registration this year but haven’t received your dog tag yet, it is because you haven’t returned your signed registration form. Windy weekend
Election Day weather is forecast to be gusty. It will start off mostly cloudy with a chance of a shower in the morning and afternoon. A northwesterly becomes strong in the morning before hopefully settling down overnight. MetService has issued a strong wind watch for Wellington and Wairarapa south of Woodville, lasting for 11 hours from 7am to 6pm. Hold onto your ballot papers.
Community workshop
Community workshops are currently being delivered across areas of New Zealand that were affected by Cyclone Gabrielle and other North Island weather events. The Masterton workshop for lifestyle block support, recovery and resilience is on Saturday 21st October at the Masterton Club Rotary Lounge. It’s the second Saturday of the month tomorrow, which means the Martinborough Community Board are meeting at the Waihinga Centre, Martinborough, from 10am to 12 pm. The board wants to hear residents’ views, concerns, opinions, and ideas from residents.
