Report adopted

Masterton District Council unanimously adopted its annual report for the 2023 financial year at a meeting yesterday. The council noted in its recommendations that the statutory deadline for adopting the report was October 31, but due to a combination of factors impacting finalisation, it was delayed. The annual report and a summary of it must be published within a month of its adoption.

Meeting off

The Martinborough Community Board meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled due to conflicting events and “the impact on quorum”, according to a post by South Wairarapa District Council. No alternate date has been advised. However, an extraordinary meeting of the MCB has been scheduled for 7pm on December 7. The meeting will be held in the Supper Room at the Waihinga Centre in Martinborough.

Cyclone offer

Masterton District Council [MDC] has been offered the opportunity to participate in a government buy-back programme. The programme would provide financial support to properties within the district that were impacted severely by Cyclone Gabrielle. MDC is currently taking feedback until Monday, December 4 at 4.30pm. You can provide feedback online through the MDC website, or pick up a paper copy from the MDC customer service centre at 161 Queen St, or from the Masterton District Library.
