Discount fares

Metlink fares are changing back to full price from September 1, but you can still get half-price fares if you’re under 25. Starting this Saturday, Metlink is launching an online portal for under-25s to load the youth concession onto their Snapper card. The 50 per cent off concession must be loaded onto a card and renewed each year. Fares for under-13s, with green Snapper cards, will be free. The government funded half-price fares on public transport nationwide from April 2022 until June 2023.

Māori wards

Pae Tū Mōkai o Tauira invites those interested in Māori wards to attend their Q&A session today at 23 North Soldiers Settlement Rd, Featherston from 6-8pm. Before councils make a final decision about whether or not to have Māori wards in their district, they would like to engage with their Māori communities to understand their thoughts and perspectives. To find out more info about Māori wards visit swdc.govt.nz/maori-wards or send your questions or feedback to [email protected]
