Carterton Matariki event

To celebrate Matariki, Carterton District Council [CDC] has issued a reminder about today’s free tree planting event at Ngā Tāwhai Reserve from 10 am to 12 pm. CDC has been working over the past 12 months to restore the mana of Ngā Tāwhai Reserve on Ngatawhai Road, Te Wharau. The area has been underutilised and inaccessible to the public. But CDC wants to change this and has therefore invited the community to take part in this tree planting event for Matariki. Buses will leave Carterton Events Centre at 8.30 am and leave the reserve at 12 pm. Registration for the free buses is needed. Access to the reserve via private vehicle is not allowed. Registration at cdc.govt.nz/matariki2023 or https://www.surveylegend.com/s/51jp.
