Wairarapa residents and visitors in search of activities have plenty to choose from this weekend – from dazzling performances to the opportunity to try something new.
Today’s movie matinee performance by the Wairarapa Youth Orchestra will be music to the ears of many.
A 50-piece orchestra of accomplished youngsters from across the region will perform specially arranged themes from ‘Harry Potter’, ‘James Bond’, ‘Titanic’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘Mama Mia’. and ‘Chariots of Fire’.
If you, your friends, or your family fancy a symphony, this will be an ideal afternoon for you.
Adult tickets are $15 or $10 for concession, while children under 16 get in for $5.

Music enthusiasts are in for a treat tonight with an R16 ‘The Next Big Thing – Let’s Hear it for NZ Music’ gig.

Night Fever
Dust off the disco boots and flares, because a tribute to the Bee Gees and Neil Diamond is coming to town.
The Bee Gees embodied the disco era of the late 1970s with their classics ‘Saturday Night Fever’ and ‘Stayin’ Alive”.
Paul Madsen will then perform his tribute to Neil Diamond, featuring all his greatest hits.
All ages are welcome; $ 30.00 per ticket, with door sales only.

Life Drawing
Tomorrow may be the day this weekend when you take the road less travelled and instead join tutor Joanne Ridley-McBeth as she takes you through a life drawing session.
Costing $40 per session, you can learn to observe and draw the human form from a life model [although please note that a nude life model is used, so it’s perhaps not suitable for children under 16].
Ongoing tutored sessions will also be held on the last Sunday of every month.
