Leaks fixed

Wellington Water has advised of 15 leak fixes this week in South Wairarapa, and nine repairs last week. District update

Masterton District Council said it was closely monitoring the weather in the coming days. “We’re very aware of the upcoming forecast bad weather and the potential this has to prolong our current repair efforts, exacerbate current slips and drop-outs, or create new problems in our already saturated areas.” The council said it would respond where urgent needs arose and encouraged residents to use official channels to communicate issues such as flooding on roads, slips, drinking water, or wastewater problems on 06 370 6300 or 06 378 7752 [AH]. The council also said it would review the state of the Masterton-Castlepoint Rd today. The road has been closed between 8am-4pm since Tuesday, only opening to traffic between noon and 1pm.
