Today’s clash between unbeaten Harcourts and defending champions Wairarapa College is the highlight of the fifth round of Wairarapa Premier One Netball.
Harcourts, who won 11 titles in 12 years, before Waicol ended their reign last season, have started the season on fire, winning all four games by comfortable margins, with an eight-goal victory over Celtic the closest.
Waicol had also been in outstanding form but were undone by Jo Kelly and Co Carterton Maroon 48-43 in their most recent outing.
Harcourts are likely to hold the advantage in midcourt where the experienced Katie Alsop is rarely bettered, while the inclusion of New Zealand Under-20 men’s international Vyktah Tamihana has added a new dimension in the shooting circle.
