Julia Joan (nee Ball) 9/12/1935.
Julia passed away at the Switzer home Kaitaia 29/1/2021. Originally from Masterton she left to train as a teacher in the early fifties before settling in Rotorua where she worked firstly at Ngongotaha School where she was an active member of the PTA for a number of years. An eight year stint at McKillop College as Art Department head teacher followed. Julia worked faithfully as a fully committed Rotarianne, and as secretary to the Rotorua City Art Society. Her involvement with this latter group was pivotal in the establishment of the Rotorua City Art Gallery.
Beloved wife of the late John, mother of Kingsley (deceased), Simon, Rachael and Sarah, and grandmother of Brody. Dearly loved sister of Leona (deceased), Oliver (deceased), Beverley, Roger, Greg and Chris. Julia’s vibrant personality touched so many, and her love of life was contagious. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
A private cremation has been held at Far North Memorial Gardens. Messages to the family may be sent C/- PO Box 2035 Kuripuni, Masterton 5842.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Julia’s life at 124 Colombo Road, Masterton on Saturday 6th February at 3.00pm.
