Community groups are rallying around foodbanks and every little bit helps, Tankersley says.
The Chanel College collection was organised by the Young Vinnie’s pupil group within the college, named after St Vincent de Paul who was a warrior for social justice.
Each term they organise a different event to support the community.
“The community is really stepping up,” Tankersley said. “We are still experiencing a really busy time with food parcels.”
She and Conroy thanked the pupils for their generosity and spoke about the work of Foodbanks within Wairarapa.
