Peacefully at Glenwood Masonic Hospital on 11 January 2019, in the presence of his family,  aged 91. Loved husband of Rosalind for 59 years.  Loved father and father-in-law of Christine and Brendan Connor, Jeanette and Harvey Pope and Andrea and Paul Britton.  Loved Grandad of Siobhan and Hamish, Bridget and Gareth, Josie, Gabrielle and Andre; Gina and Sven, James and Nikki, Charlotte and Henry; Alexander, Matthew and Daniel.  Great Grandad to Lachlan. Youngest son of the late John Edward and Beatrice New, youngest brother of the late Elizabeth, Sidney, Christopher, Gladys, Jack, Bessie and Leonard (Yorkshire U.K). Loved brother-in-law of Jill and the late John Brooks, Jackie and Keith Horsbrugh, and Richard (dec) and Jill Jenkins.
A service for Ray will be held at The Anglican Church of Epiphany, High Street, Masterton on Wednesday, 16 January 2019 at 1:00pm, followed by private cremation. Messages to R H New, Suite 2, 74 Upper Plain Road, Masterton.
