(22nd Battalion, 2NZEF, Japan). Of Midlands Gardens, Paraparaumu.  Peacefully on Saturday, 4 August 2018, at Sevenoaks Hospital, aged 92 years.  Loved husband of the late Eunice, and much loved Dad of Bruce & Lyn (Masterton), and Denise & Graeme Burden (Australia).  Loved grandfather of Glenn, Emma, Kylie, Ellen, Shanon and Clinton, and loved great-grandfather of twelve great-grandchildren.  Sincere thanks to the staff of Sevenoaks Hospital for their loving care over the past two weeks.
A service to celebrate Merv’s life will be held at Kapiti Coast Funeral Home Chapel, 9–11 Hinemoa Street, Paraparaumu, at 11am on Wednesday, 8 August 2018, to be followed by a private cremation.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society, PO Box 7125, Newtown, Wellington 6242 would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
