Country singer
Wairarapa-based country music singer Sue Dyson is performing at Club Wairarapa tonight. Dyson has starred on the Good Morning show in New Zealand as a soloist and worked on other televised events, including The New Zealand Music Awards. Members of the Masterton Club, affiliated members, and their guests are welcome. The Whatman Restaurant is open from 5.30pm for dinner.

Wairarapa Farmers’ Market
Tomorrow holds the weekly opportunity to wander around the Wairarapa Farmers Market. On offer is a bounty of fresh local produce, crafts, and handmade gifts. A coffee cart and a range of food stalls will be there to quench your thirst and fill your belly. And while browsing what’s on offer, there’s live entertainment to enjoy too. The market organisers have a plan to cope with whatever challenges are presented by the weather, with both indoor and outdoor facilities available.

Mid-winter artisan market
Family and friends are invited to spend Saturday browsing artisan stalls and meeting the creators. Artisan stallholders from all over New Zealand will be attending and bringing their products. The market has tight criteria for all stall holders, which must represent women-owned businesses and produce handcrafted items.

Watercolour exhibition
Full-time watercolour artist and tutor Jacky Pearson is putting on a solo watercolour exhibition called Going with the Flow that opens tomorrow. Her style is direct realism, which concentrates on the show of light on the subject. The exhibit features a wide variety of subject matter from Wairarapa landscapes and Wellington city scenes to clouds, the sea, and portraits of artisans at their work.
The artist’s talk is being held tomorrow from 3pm, while the exhibition opens at 4pm at Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History, 12 Bruce St, Masterton.
Self-guided Stonehenge tour
Those curious to explore the wonders of Aotearoa’s own Stonehenge are invited on a self-guided tour. Visitors will be given both a map of Stonehenge Aotearoa and an audio-visual that explains how it works. Marvel at a unique open-air astronomical observatory, built with ancient knowledge of the stone circles adapted to New Zealand conditions.
