Carterton District Council will collect next week’s rubbish and recycling on Tuesday due to Monday’s public holiday.

Planting day
This Sunday at 10am Masterton District Council is holding a community planting day on the Riversdale dunes. The meeting pint is at the car park at the southern end of Blue Pacific Parade.
Tararua services
Due to the public holiday, Tararua District Council’s customer service centres, libraries, and i-site will be closed. All transfer station opening hours and curbside recycling pickups remain unchanged. If you need to contact the council, the phone lines will still be active on 06 374 4080 [North] and 06 376 0110 [South].
Police callout
Police responded to reports of a vehicle that had broken down on SH2 near Carterton at about 10.30am yesterday; the road was quickly cleared, and there was no danger to the public.
Park survey
Greater Wellington Regional Council [GWRC] is asking people who enjoy visiting the region’s parks to fill out the Annual Parks Survey. Feedback will guide GWRC on how it prioritises planning and improvement of park facilities and aid it in deciding how to conduct maintenance activities.
