Drax Project is headlining Masterton’s Summer Hummer event tomorrow. The band was recognised globally in 2017 with their hit single ‘Woke Up Late’ and has opened for international acts, including Ed Sheeran, since then.
Among the other acts performing at the event will be LA Women and CC’s House. Due to the huge numbers expected, people are advised to reserve a spot with a gold coin donation online. Once the audience limit is reached, there will be no further entry allowed.
As ever, Queen Elizabeth Park’s miniature train rides and pedal boat rides will be operating, and there will be onsite food trucks.

Gin-and-cricket shenanigans
An afternoon cricket event is being sponsored in Greytown tomorrow by Hendrick’s Gin. Attendees are encouraged to bring deckchairs, sunhats, and a picnic to the Greytown Cricket Club – one of New Zealand’s oldest.
The match will involve two Greytown cricket teams: Inspire Living XI vs Pope & Gray XI. On offer during the match will be a classic Hendrick’s Gin and Tonic with a slice of cucumber. This is a free event.

PYO apples
Molewood Orchard in Greytown will open its gates tomorrow for the public to pick their own apples for the second year running.
The orchard is a short walk or bike ride from Main St, and parking is available on the orchard grounds. Visitors are encouraged to bring either a bucket, basket, or bag for the fruit.
There is space to bring lunch to the “beautiful” new picnic area in Molewood Meadows. Prices per kg will be updated on the orchard’s Facebook page and website: molewoodorchard.com

Martinborough Colour Run
This fun run event will leave participants bursting with colour after they run, walk and or dance across the finish line. There is no need to train for this event because it is designed to be enjoyed.
Fun-runners are encouraged to bring a picnic and stay to listen to music from DJ Gravy after the race. There are also food trucks and drinks available for purchase. Money raised for the event will go toward the Martinborough Pump Track. Runners are advised to bring a t-shirt and sunglasses or goggles as eyewear protection.

Trust House Children’s Day
To celebrate International Children’s Day on Sunday, families can enjoy free entry to a teddy bears’ picnic in the morning, followed by a waka tākaro play trailer. There are also pedal boats, trains, golf and pools, face painting and a geo-cache treasure hunt.
