Richie passed away at home on February 16th, aged 83, retaining his wicked sense of humour to the end. Beloved husband and soulmate of Barbara for 61 years. Much loved and respected father of Michael and Jenny, Andy and Lea, Jerrod and Kirsty. Adored Grandad of Ben and Lisa, Josh and Pip, Duncan and Eb, Nick and Jess, Tim and Adrienne, Brad and Brigette, and Lachie and Caitlin. Treasured ‘Three Gs’ to Niamh, Fionn, Alfie, Tilly, Conor, Tadhg, Jack, Grace, Austyn and Layla.
A private service has been held in accordance with Richie’s wishes. Thanks to all the medical staff at Wairarapa Hospital, Kuripuni Medical, Palliative Care Kahukura and Wairarapa Village for your care and support. Combined, the wrap around support services that Richie received was unbelievable and provided great comfort. In lieu of flowers please kindly donate to the Wellington Free Ambulance service.
