Flood in
Waingawa
Motorists shared sightings of a water leak yesterday in Waingawa. A spokesperson from Carterton District Council said a property owner left some debris in a culvert, which caused the blockage. The spokesperson said, “A property owner did some maintenance to the vegetation around the water race on their property, which accidentally left debris in the race and blocked the culvert, causing it to flood.” They advised people to report hazards so crews could respond quickly and resolve problems. They also reminded people to stay safe when driving.
