Dyerville fire

Three fire stations responded to a structure fire in Dyerville on Thursday after a tree-stump fire jumped to the neighbouring paddock and a woodshed caught on fire. An ember from the fire also got beneath a nearby house – likely due to the winds – and the response team put this out. While a burnt water pipe was the only damage found to the home, the woodshed was completely devoured by the ensuing fire. The tanker from Carterton and a pump from both Martinborough and Featherston stations responded to the callout, with the first unit arriving on the scene at about 12.40 after receiving the call just after 12.30pm. There were no injuries reported.
