The littlest visitors at the Rathkeale College Christmas Fete enjoyed mini truck rides around the campus on Saturday.

A two-carriage truck was driven by arguably the most knowledgeable tour guides – the Rathkeale College students.

The Fete remained outdoors despite the odd sprinkling of rain.

Development manager Grant Harper said the fete went remarkably well.

New faces had joined the fete all the way from Auckland, Manawatu and Hawke’s Bay, Mr Harper said.

Last year the fete had raised about $30,000 and “hopefully it will be close to that again”, he said.

“[It was] certainly a successful day.”

“The food was excellent.

“People enjoyed the music, a lot of students performed.”

People enjoyed the opportunity to start thinking about Christmas gifts, Mr Harper said.

“There was something there for everyone,” he said.

“Thank you to those who supported it and came to it, the weather wasn’t fantastic but it didn’t spoil the day.”
