If you like helping others, can communicate and relate well to people and have a commitment to social justice, we would like to hear from you.
You will need to be a people person with good listening, written and oral skills, have sound research skills, the ability to relate to people from all areas of the community, and enjoy working as an integral part of our small team of 3.5 staff and over a dozen volunteer lawyers. A sense of community and humour is essential, and you’ll need a current driver’s licence as well to attend our legal outreach clinics.
Duties of a Case Worker include providing legal information, assistance, support, empowerment, advocacy, and delivering legal education to clients of the Law Centre. An understanding or background in law and legal process in New Zealand (or a quick learner), would be an advantage.
